After tying the game with 4.6 seconds left, the Lady Greyhounds were flagged for a foul with 1.2 seconds remaining and could only watch as the North Arkansas College Lady Pioneers hit two free throws for a 60-58 win Saturday at Pioneer Pavilion in Harrison, Arkansas.

North Arkansas held a 5655 lead with 53.1 seconds left to play when the Lady Greyhounds missed two free throws, but then got the ball back after their full court press forced a 10-second violation. ASU Mid-South then missed a shot and the Lady Pioneers hit a putback off an offensive rebound to put them ahead 58-55 with 11.0 seconds left to play. After a Lady Greyhound timeout to advance the ball to halfcourt, Aryah Hazley found Kayla Griffin on the right wing, and her three-pointer found the mark to tie the game 58-58 with 5.1 seconds left. But after a North Arkansas timeout advanced the ball to halfcourt, the Lady Pioneers got the ball inside and Griffin was called for a block as she fell from contact and the Lady Pioneers hit both free throws with 1.1 seconds remaining. ASU Mid-South had one final attempt, but the rushed shot did not find the rim.

The Lady Greyhounds shot just 32.3 percent from the field and 23.5 percent from the three-point line to North Arkansas’ 52.6 percent from the field and 30.0 percent from the arc. But 14 offensive rebounds and only 10 turnovers while forcing 20 Lady Pioneer turnovers kept ASU Mid-South in the game.

Aryah Hazley led the Lady Greyhounds with 25 ponts and team-highs of 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 6 steals. Kya Washington scored 9 points and Jazzmen Robinson chipped in 8 points.
