Victims ID’d in fatal crash

CORNING — Arkansas State Police have identified the six people killed in a crash earlier this month at the intersection of U.S. 62 and Highway 135.

ASP updated its preliminary fatality report on the April 15 crash Monday. Killed in the crash were Jessica Inek, 34, Rekinna Alanso, 65, Sonter Andon, 37, Santos Andon, 62, Nisdy Inek, 36, and a minor, all of Paragould.

According to the preliminary report, a 2013 Buick, in which the six people were traveling, was going north on Highway 135 at the intersection when it failed to yield and pulled into the path of a 1996 Peterbilt, driven by Gerayne L. Poole, 82, of Piggott, going east.

After the collision, both vehicles traveled off the road into a nearby ditch and became fully engulfed in flames.

Poole was taken to a Memphis hospital for treatment, ASP said.
