DROWNING AT HORSESHOE

Tragedy struck recently at Horseshoe Lake. Just a few hours after Times’ outdoors correspondent John Criner snapped this photo on April 30, Orlando East (left), seen here with his longtime fishing partner Caroline Burdette, fell into the water and drowned. East and Burdette were regular fixtures at Horseshoe, often seen out catching crappie.
