In their final game of the regular season, the Lady Greyhounds used a big first quarter to take a double-digit lead, then maintained the rest of the way to take a 70-60 victory over the UA Cossatot Lady Colts Saturday at The Dog House.
Leading 21-7 after the first period, ASU Mid-South led 32-20 at the half and coasted the rest of the way, shooting 41.2 percent from the field while holding UA Cossatot to just 30.0 percent shooting.
Aaliyah Lee led the charge with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocked shots while Keiana Delaney finished with 11 points and Meleanna Williams scored 10 points with a team-high 3 steals. Jaylia Reed dished out a team-high 5 assists to go with 8 points and 7 rebounds.
The Lady Greyhounds (17-9, 8-2) have clinched the #2 seed in next week’s NJCAA Region 2 Tournament held at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, and have a bye in the tournament’s first round. They will play the winner of the #3 seed and #6 seed Friday at 3:00pm.
