The Lady Black Knights shined in victory while the boys displayed a gallant effort in defeat on the hardwoods at home last week against Macon Road Baptist School Kingsmen.
The boys battled hard for offensive boards but got few second chances as the Kingsmen consistently collapsed into the lane for shot blocking and rebounds. The Black Knights swung the ball on the perimeter, looking for the extra pass or a crease for a dribble drive but were thwarted in their efforts for the entire game. Jasin LaRue lead Black Knight scorers with 15 from the floor including one three point bomb and four more at the line for 19 points. The Kingsmen outpaced the hometown boys 65 to 46.
The girls sprinted out to a lead only to endure a third quarter comeback run from Macon Road Baptist School. The Lady Knights staved the challenge and never trailed in the game. Lady Knight tenth grader Olivia Jones lead all scorers in the game with 15 points, followed by a 12 effort from senior Grace Paterson. The Lady Knights doubled up the visitors 52-26.
