[ Editor’s Note: I received no less than four texts saying almost the exact same thing. I picked the shortest, most direct one to respond to here.

Allow me to retort with a numbered list… 1) I don’t care if you shop at Walmart or Kroger. In fact, if you don’t want to wear a mask, I’d actually prefer that you did not, and apparently so would they. 2) What do you hope to gain by letting people know that you do not care about the health and well- being of others? Kind of a weird badge of honor, honestly. 3) I hope that in the time between the time you sent this and the time you read this you happened to catch the governor’s mandatory mask order. As I’m sure you’ve probably already figured out, you’ll need a new plan of defiance]

*** So, they’ve decided that it’s safe for kids to go back to school. Well, what about the teachers? It’s like no one is thinking this all the way through!

Note: While I usually hate the “ what about…” game, this one is a little different. While it is true that children are far less likely to get sick from COVID- 19, they are still carriers and if they spend all day with adults ( like, say, in a school building) they are going to spread it to them.

Not just teachers, but school bus drivers, custodians, lunch staff and others. The confined nature of the schools practically guarantee it. Not to draw an ugly comparison, but didn’t we learn that from the outbreaks in our prisons?]
