‘Money Don’t Sleep’ operation continues to put criminals away

The United State Attorney announced last week the conviction of a West Memphis man on federal charges related to methamphetamine. Terry Whittier, Jr. AKA T.J., was convicted and sentenced to 17 years in federal prison for his involvement in a meth conspiracy. The 2017 federal task force operation in West Memphis, “Money Don’t Sleep” originally drag netted the now convicted Whittier.

Langston recounted the history of partnership between city police and federal law enforcement agencies and the weight federal sentences.
“We began our partnership with the DEA in September of 2015 and this case is another example of what we can accomplish when we collaborate with our federal law enforcement partners and federal prosecutors,” said Langston. “Our narcotics division did and outstanding job in this investigation and as a result, Mr. Whittier will not be an issue in this community for the next 17 years.”
