The Happy Hour Club met at the First United Methodist Church Morrison Fellowship Hall Feb. 1, where they enjoyed a potluck luncheon.

The tables were covered with Valentine cloths and decorated with vases of red and white carnations surrounded by colorful beads and Valentine Cards.

Favors were heart shaped candies.

Janis Lancaster gave the devotional on love.

Door prize winners were Becky Knapp, Tammy Dunn and Martha Booker. Becky Knapp, presided over the meeting.

Others present were Allison Bird, Brennan Bird, Sue Dorman, Jean Allensworth, Laura Pritchard, Frank Saig, Frankie Swindle, Ken Lancaster, Doris Gately, Jane Speed, J. W. Ellis, Christine Littlejohn and Sue Ann Elms.

*** The Crittenden County Red Hat Society met at Margarita’s Restaurant in West Memphis Jan. 30.

Clara Miller of Marion was hostess. Her granddaughter, Savanna Lovelady, gave the table blessing.

Mary Ann Pollard and Ann Rogers of Marion were recognized as having January birthdays.

Favors were assorted lip balm.

Others present were Gerry Clark and Jean Burns of West Memphis, Mary Frances Davis of Marion and Ann Pickering-Philyaw of Earle.

*** The Men’s Fellowship of the First Assembly of God Church met at the fellowship hall Jan. 21.

They enjoyed a chili supper and cinnamon rolls for dessert. Rev. Bill Watt gave the devotional.

Among others present were Carlos Love, Wade Young, Elbert Person and Rev. Clayton Adams, pastor.

*** Lighted Pathways and First United Methodist Church members joined Earle Baptist Church members for the 5th Sunday hymn sing at the Baptist church.

Rev. Tony Wells led the singing and Janis Lancaster was accompanist.

Rev. Wells sang “Beulah Land” as a solo. Other soloist were Mary Ann Carnes and Rev. Frances Gamble.

Those attending enjoyed cake, party mix, coffee and soft drinks for refreshments. A total of 27 were present.

*** The Women’s Ministry of the First Assembly of God Church met at the Fellowship Hall recently where they enjoyed a baked potato and dessert b a r . Tracy Buford gave the devotional.

Others present were Terre Rodgers, Linda Jo Branch, Krista Adams, Ashley Cox, Nicole Peer, Crystal Holloway, Myra Arquitt, Tammy Soto, Amy Soto, Alicia Martinez, Anna Armendariz, Tabitha Newingham, Debbie Love, Christina Kilgore and Laurie Adams.

*** Ellen Holloway, Earlene Brooks, Christine Littlejohn, Mary Frances Davis, Dot McKinney, Jean Burns and Sue Ann Elms had lunch together at Cracker Barrell Restaurant in West Memphis Jan. 19.

*** Doris Gately was in Marion recently at the home of Julie and John Gately to celebrate the birthday of 4-year-old Aliya Gately, daughter of Lauren Gately.

She also attended a party for 6-year-old Johanna Gately held at the home of Janet and Wayne Gately.

Johanna is the daughter of Trey Gately.
