Local centenarian passes away at 103

The average lifespan for a man in America is 79 years, but one local man who passed away recently eclipsed that mrk by nearly a quarter of a century.
Charlie Jordan, of West Memphis, passed away on Monday, Dec. 2, at the age of 103.
Charlie was born to Richard and Mary Jordan in Hughes, Arkansas, back in 1921. Warren G. Harding was President of the United States. World War I and the Spanish Flu had just recently ended and women had not yet received the right to vote.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Lee; his parents; and all of his siblings: Brack, Johnny, Jerry, Lu-Cinda, Willie B., Doll Lean, and Eula B.
Jordan was remembered fondly by friends and family he left behind. He is survived by his three sons: Charles, Carl Edward, and Frank; two daughters: Barbara Ann and Carniece; three very special nephews: Oscar Jordan, Jimmie Daniels, and George Lovden; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 20 greatgreat- grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

sanctuary choir, male chorus, senior choir, as a trusted bus driver, groundskeeper, maintenance helper, and as a faithful trustee and deacon. He was a veteran of the U.S.
Navy.
Funeral services were held on on Saturday, Dec. 14, at First Missionary Baptist Church, of West Memphis. Burial took place at Paradise Gardens, in Edmondson, Services were held under the supervision of Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home.
