Blue Devils beat Brookland for first win
West Memphis boys get first win of the season, 60-53

The West Memphis Blue Devil boys basketball team picked up their first victory of the 2024-25 season with a win over Brookland last Thursday night, winning 60-53.
It was also the first win for new head coach Marcus Brown since returning to helm the Blue Devil hoops program after a stint coaching at the collegiate level.
Deangelo Craig and DeCambren Holmes scored 14 points each Thursday night to lead West Memphis to victory over Brookland in senior boys’ basketball at the Empower Invitational.
Ladarrius Brown added 12 points for the Blue Devils (2-1). West Memphis led 15-12 after the first quarter, 28-24 at halftime and 43-42 after the third quarter.
Lane Webster scored 20 points and Sawyer Wright added 16 for Brookland (0-3), each hitting two 3-pointers. Following a brief hiatus for the Thanksgiving break, West Memphis will be back in action on Saturday when they face the New Madrid County Central Eagles on the road.
Tip-off time in Missouri is set for 5 p.m.
