Homemade Corn Bread
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup yellow corn meal
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 egg, beaten
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease an
8- or 9-inch pan.
Combine dry ingredients. Stir in milk, oil and egg and mix just until dry ingredients are moistened. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake until light golden brown, about
20-25 minutes. A toothpick or knife tip inserted in the center should come out clean.
Serves 9.
