Legal Notice of Public Hearing
Front Yard Variance Request – 123 Cedar Avenue, Marion, Arkansas – Notice is hereby given that JP4, LLC will present its petition to the Marion Board of Adjustment on Tuesday December 3, 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Marion City Hall, 14 Military Rd, Marion, Arkansas, for a variance to the Marion Zoning Ordinance. Said variance request pertains to the proposed construction of a new house to be located on Lot 22 Block 5 of the Crump Addition, more commonly known as 123 Cedar Avenue, Marion, Arkansas. The requested variance is for a 15-foot front yard variance from the required 30 feet to 15 feet. All persons who may have any objection to granting a variance are notified to be in attendance on the above date to state their objections to the Marion Board of Adjustment. To rezone a 54.207-acre tract of land located within the city of Marion, Arkansas. An Application has been filed with the Marion Planning Commission by Brownstone Estates of Marion, LLC to rezone a tract of land located within the City of Marion, Arkansas from from R-2-S Residential to R-4-S Residential. The tract of land is more specifically described as follows: Legal Description — Beginning at the northeast corner of section 35,t-7-n,r-8-e Crittenden County, Ark; thence along the center line of Brushy Bayou (Ditch 15) with a bearing of s 00°21’40” e, a distance of 2107.53 feet to a point in the north line of the Union Pacific railroad (50’ to centerline); thence along the north line of said railroad with a bearing of n 65°58’55” w, a distance of 1433.38 feet to the southeast corner of Phase 6 of Pleasant Plains Subd; thence along the east line of said PhASE 6 with a bearing of n 00°29’20” w, a distance of 1505.80 feet to a point; thence along the north line of said section 35 with a bearing of n 89°11’52” e, a distance of 1308.97 feet to the point of beginning; containing 2,361,270.44 square feet or 54.207 acres 1t, e-edition 11/13/2024

Civil Air Patrol
Civil Air Patrol meets the first, second and third Monday of each month, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Cypress Avenue Baptist Church, 1241 Cypress Ave, in Marion. Join the 4-H Club
The Crittenden County Extension Office of the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture is inviting everyone ages 5 to 19 to be a part of the 4-H Club. Activities include gardening, fishing, shooting sports, music, outdoors skills, crafts, STEM activities, Archeology, art and more. Tornado Siren Testing
The West Memphis Office of Emergency Management will conduct periodic tests of the city’s tornado siren warning system on Saturdays at noon. These sirens are located at: Tilden Rodgers Park, the J.W. Rich Girls Club, South Avalon at the VFW, 10th Street at Jackson, Goodwin at Garden Drive and MLK Drive at Beatty. The West Memphis School District holds its monthly School Board meetings on the third Tuesday of the month, at 6 p.m., at the Central Office, 301 S. Avalon. St., in West Memphis. West Memphis Christmas Parade
The 72nd annual West Memphis Christmas Parade will be Tuesday, Dec. 3, beginning at 7 p.m. Presented by the West Memphis Chamber of Commerce. The deadline to enter is Friday, Nov. 29. The Entry Fee is $25. Parade lineup begins at 5 p.m., in the Lehr Arena parking lot, 500 W. Broadway, and route ends at the West Memphis Christian School parking lot, 1101 N. The annual Marion Christmas Parade returns on Thursday, Dec. 5, beginning at 6:30 p.m., at the Marion Shopping Center on Block Street.
