with the phrase “Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.”
As the Bible says, “Love one another with brotherly affection.” (Romans 12:10) and Donald Trump has certainly lived up to this. As Bob Woodward tells us, Trump has provided medical support to his political “brother” Vladimir Putin, well at least COVID tests as they share a great fear of germs. They also stay in contact with phone calls from time to time. The suggestion by Trump that he would end the war in Ukraine if he wins this year’s presidential election isn’t likely to be a result of his skills as a negotiator but his total capitulation to Putin. This isn’t really a friendship of equals but that of Trump desperately seeking the approval of a perceived strongman. Who needs enemies when you have friends like this? The final word on this friendship can be attributed to Sun Tzu, a great Chinese military general, who is credited
[Editor’s Note: I’m pretty sure that’s from The Godfather — but seriously, it will be very interesting to see how the situation in Ukraine goes with Trump heading back to the Oval Office. There’s nothing to suggest it will go well for Ukraine. And while that is bad news, I think, there isn’t likely to be a whole lot of outrage about it here in the U.S., because it doesn’t really affect many of us directly] You really need to hire a proofreader. There are more and more errors daily, even on the front page. [Editor’s Note: I couldn’t figure out a way to transfer it into newsprint, but this text was ended with an emoji of a woman smacking herself in the face, like the classic facepalm. So, I know it’s from a woman. I didn’t check it, but it might be from my wife, the former English teacher. Here’s the thing, though… I am the proofreader! Like, as the editor, that’s part of my job, so apologies for letting mistakes slip through the cracks. I’ll try to do better. I do take some solace in the fact that even the New York Times has typos from time to time. It’s just a pitfall of putting so many words on the page under a fairly tight schedule on a fairly regular basis, and you end up with everything from a scientific study of the “human brian” to having something entered into the “pubic record,” so I’ll try to do better…]
congratulations on you getting your wish in this election, once again you called out Biden over his “garbage” comment, yet you continue to ignore the convicted felon, sexual predator, and ungodly liar who referred to those citizens who do not worship him “scum.” I know you long and dream for yesteryears and truly believe Trump is the one to return you to that time, it’s unfortunate that you have chosen to remain in the past. I remember hearing once that God doesn’t like Ugly. [Editor’s Note: I think that’s in Ecclesiastes… Not gonna lie, I thought Trump might win, but I did not think he would win the popular vote. Clearly the Democrats’ message failed to resonate with voters. Funny, the best thing I saw last week was someone who posted a picture of Al Gore that said in 2028, he’d be 76 and finally old enough to be president]
