All of my worry was in vain! These are my sentiments only about Earle and my girls!!! One graduated in 2010 and and one just graduated in 2019. I enjoyed the virtual graduation better than both of mine! NO DISTRACTIONS from people talking and walking! Just a perfect commencement with perfect air conditioning!! The sound was perfect and for once, I heard EVERYTHING!! The parade was awesome and so was the food! Now, about the prom! They only dress up to please us and stay there for about as long as John stayed in the army! They dress up, take pictures with their friends and hit the door!! I saw all of them dressed up via Facebook as usual. They looked great and their photoshoots were clear and just beautiful! To the graduates and parents of 2020, you made a very interesting mark on history! You went out with a BANG! I'm amazed at how all this turned out to be the best I've ever seen in a very long time!! Probably since the 80's!!!! Congratulations to all of you and this year of 2020 brought on a new vision! If I had more children, I would vote for the new way of doing these things! Much love and richest blessings! [ Editor's Note: For what it's worth, I watched the Earle and West Memphis ' virtual graduations' and thought they were both very well done.
As someone who has had to sit through dozens of graduations over the years, I will echo your sentiments that it was very well done by both schools, especially considering the circumstances.
While I'm sure they'll go back to the ' traditional' way of doing things when this coronavirus thing blows over, I think they should still make the ' virtual' graduations a permanent thing. It would be a great keepsake and lets each student have a little moment in the spotlight outside of simply hearing his or her name read over the PA system]
*** Just an FYI I went into Marion Marketplace this afternoon and everyone that worked there appeared to have a mask on. The only problem was 98% of them were wearing them wrong.
If you’re going to choose to wear a mask at least cover your nose along with your mouth… otherwise there’s no point in wearing one at all. Kudos to the cashiers they all appeared to wear them correctly. [ Editor's Note: Yeah, I don't get that one. What do they think the mask does for you if you've got your nose hanging out or even worse, just have the mask strapped around your chin? It's like going scuba diving and putting the mask over your forehead.
Unfortunately, I see fewer and fewer masks being worn these days. I make a weekly trip to Walmart every Saturday or Sunday and it went from only a few masks to about half- andhalf to majority wearing masks to less than half in the space of a month. I saw someone say something like, ' Yes, we'll follow these guidelines… for a while.
We're Americans, so our capacity for being inconvenienced only goes so far]
*** If I were to pass gas, would you prefer I was wearing pants? If you heard me do it, would you possibly cover your nose with your shirt to help with the smell? If you answered yes to these two questions, it really should make sense that wearing a mask helps slow the spread of COVID-19!
[ Editor's Note: I'm not gonna lie… I had no idea where you were going with this when I started reading, but kudos to you for making a good point… in a very weird way]
Here’s what everyone is talking about this week:
