Would-be bomber attempts bank robbery

Crittenden County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $2,000 reward for information on the identity of a man who attempted to rob a bank with claims of carrying a bomb “We are hoping the community will be able to help investigators learn the identity of this person who, on Wednesday Morning, around 11:45 a.m., walked up to a teller window at the First National Bank on Barton Street in Earle, and stated he had a bomb,” said Sheriff Mike Allen.
As part of his scheme, the man put a plastic sack in the teller window and demanded money,” according to the sheriff. Despite his efforts, the attempted robbery was unsuccessful.
“The clerk activated the alarm and the suspect ran west behind the old Mad Butcher,” Allen said. “The suspect didn’t get any money.”
