Richard Caldwell

Charles Richard Caldwell, 83, of Columbus, Mississippi, entered his heavenly family on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, GTR. A memorial service will be held in celebration of his life on Jan. 30, 2016, at First Baptist Church, Columbus, Mississippi at 11 a.m. Mr. Caldwell was born in Sledge, Mississippi to the late Mary Jo and Albert Caldwell on Dec. 20, 1932. He graduated from S.D. Lee High School in 1950 and attended Southern Mississippi University where he was a football standout and an inductee of the Sports Hall of Fame. After graduation, he entered the USAF, where he flew the F94 Star Fire during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge, he attended Mississippi State LTniversity where he received a degree in engineering and University of Memphis for his MBA. He had a long and distinguished career in the structural steel industry and twice served as president of the Southern Association of Steel Fabricators. He was married to Nancy Hope Randle of Searcy, Arkansas on Aug. 18, 1958, and they had three children, Kelli Berry (Reau) of Columbus, Mississippi, Ken Caldwell (Jenny) of Dallas, Texas, and Russell Caldwell (Debra) of Cordova, Tennessee. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Robert Caldwell (Adrian) of Tupelo, Mississippi; and brother-inlaw, Don Grammer of Spring, Texas. He is survived by two brothers, Albert Caldwell (Clevie) of Dickerson, Texas and Rudy Caldwell (Lee Pryor) of Tupelo, Mississippi; and two sisters, Shirley Seals (D.) of Ponte Vedra, Florida and Margery Grammer of Spring, Texas. Louis Emory

Louis Emory, 69, of West Memphis, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17. 2016, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a factory worker. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home. Services Saturday 11 a.m. at United Fellowship Church. He leaves his wife, Dorothy Emory of West Memphis; a daughter Tonja Emory of Chicago, Illinois; two sons, Jermaine Emory of Chicago and Chris Emory of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; three sisters; three brothers; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Freddie Hardin Gray

Freddie Hardin Gray, 59, of West Memphis, died Friday, Jan, 22, 2016, in his home. Visitation Friday, Jan. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Anthony Funeral Home South Chapel. Services Saturday, Jan. 30th, 11 a.m. in the south chapel with burial in Marion Memorial Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Louise Gray of Knoxville, Tennessee; his parents, Louise and Helen Pope of West Memphis; three daughters, LaKesha Wilson of West Memphis, April Hardin and Fonda Pannell of Knoxville, Tennessee; four sons, Richard Wilson of West Memphis, Robert Pannell, Jr. of Knoxville, Tennessee, Lavar Gray and Frederick Yancey of Memphis; three sisters, Linda Greene, Lesley Hardin and Rhonda Henry of West Memphis; two brothers, Fred Henry of West Memphis and Bobby Greene of New Mexico and 14 grandchildren.

Lottie Mae Johnson

Lottie Mae Johnson, 90, of Hughes, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, in Signature Healthcare, Memphis. Visitation Friday, Jan. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Rising Sun M. B. Church at Hughes. Services Saturday, Jan. 30th, 12 noon in the church with burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery. Anthony Funeral Home, in charge of services. She is survived by five daughters, Ella Gant, Tisha Johnson, Lorine Brandon of Detroit, Michigan, Diane Burns of Hughes and Shirley Burns of Nolanville, Texas; eight sons, Willie Freeman, Andrew Freeman, Devon Johnson and Clayborn Johnson of Little Rock, Elijah Johnson, Jr. of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Willie James Johnson of Hughes, Oscar Johnson of Adrian, Michigan and Garry Johnson of Marion; one sister, Oletha Golatt of Little Rock; 66 grandchildren; 120 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.

Joyce James

Joyce James, 46, of West Memphis, passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, at her home. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home. Services Saturday 12 noon at Straightway Baptist Church with burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery. She leaves two daughters, Britney James of Southaven, Mississippi and Sydney Prackett of West Memphis; a son, Justin Thomas of West Memphis; her father, Albert Lee of Chicago, Illinois; three sisters; five brothers; and four grandchildren.

Carrie Mae Wilchie Price

Carrie Mae Wilchie Price, 54, of Memphis, formerly of Osceola, passed away Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, in Memphis. She was a homemaker. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home. Services Saturday, 11 a.m. at Wolfe Brothers Chapel with burial in Evadale Cemetery. She leaves her husband, Demetrius Price of Memphis; two daughters, Ashley Wilchie of Memphis and Danielle Bradley of West Memphis; three sisters; three brothers; and six grandchildren.

Lofton Thomas, Jr.

Lofton Thomas, Jr., 77, of Turrell, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, in his home. Visitation Friday, Jan. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Macedonia M. B. Church in Turrell. Services Saturday, Jan. 30, 11 a.m. in Macedonia M. B. Church with visitation one hour prior. Burial in Paradise Garden Cemetery. Anthony Funeral Home South in charge of services. Bro. Thomas sang with the Masonic Travelers; he was a member of the Frenchman Bayou Lodge and the former Alderman of Turrell. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Mae Thomas of Turrell; six sons, Robert Thomas of Memphis, Jessie Thomas, Tony Thomas of Jonesboro, Ricky Thomas and Jeffrey Thomas of Turrell and Calvin Thomas of Pine Bluff; four sisters, Barbie Hardin, Katherine Jefferson of West Memphis, Evelyn Lomas of Marion and Peggy Thomas of Pine Bluff; six brothers, Preston Thomas, Clarence Thomas of Turrell, Ernest Thomas, Finley Thomas of West Memphis, John Thomas of San Antonio, Texas and Lonnie Thomas of Tacoma, Washington; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Birdell Tyms

Birdell Tyms, 66, of Memphis, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, in his home. Visitation Thursday, Jan. 28, from 10 to 11 a.m. in Bright Star M. B. Church at Anthonyville. Services will follow at 11 a.m. in the church with burial in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at 2 p.m. Anthony Funeral Home South in charge of service. He is survived by his mother, Ardelia Tyms of Memphis; one daughter, Delores Tyms of Dumfries, Virginia; two sons, Melvin Tyms and Terrence Tyms of Memphis; two sisters, Emma Tyms and Idella Tyms of Memphis; two brothers, Robert L. Tyms and Josh Tyms, HI of Memphis and 10 grandchildren.
