Why did the city bother putting out a holiday trash schedule when they can’t even pick up the trash on the right day when it’s not Christmas or New year’s? [ Editor’s Note: You don’t say which city you are referring to here but both marion and West Memphis ran holiday scheudles last week ( and are running them again this week due to the holiday Wednesday). I can’t vouch for how well those collections went last week for everyonew, but I live in Marion and they picked up my trash on Friday ( my regular day is Wednesday) just like they said they would. If you did not get serviced according to the schedule that was released, I would call and let someone know so that it doesn’t happen again this week, because if you’re like me, you probably have a ton of post-Christmas trash bags full of wrapping paper, gift boxes, leftover food and other ghosts of Christmas Past. On a side note… be prepared to have the regular trash pickup schedule disrupted once again in just a few weeks because the Dr.
Martin Luther Jr. holiday is coming up on Jan. 20, 2025.
At least it’s on a Monday and not in the middle of the work
