T here are different types of caretakers in society such as teachers who develop and nurture young minds, healthcare workers who care for your health, and family members who care for their loved ones.

But what about the unique group of caretakers called political caretakers. Political caretakers are individuals that want to answer the call of representing in a profession that is not glamorous. They are responsible for shaping their communities and influencing the lives of people across every generation.

They are chosen by different political parties to advocate for specific issues, representing their constituents’ voices and values on a national, regional, state, and local level.

Although deeply committed to their parties, political caretakers must also recognize that their decisions impact the entire population, affecting healthcare, education, the economy, and beyond.

Political caretakers own the challenge of balancing party loyalty with a broader responsibility to society. Although they may belong to different parties, each with distinct values and perspectives. Yet, it is essential for them to remember that their choices resonate beyond party lines and touch every aspect of everyone’s life. A true political caretaker considers not only the needs of their base but the broader human impact of every decision.

No matter their gender, race, religion, or social class, political caretakers should transcend their differences and find a path forward that benefits all.

In a society where deep divisions can lead to misunderstanding and hostility, political caretakers have a duty to rise above and promote values that foster unity and respect. This role isn’t just about elections, policies, or taxes but about a fight between right and wrong, good and evil. When political choices prioritize hatred or discrimination, it’s a symptom of a deeper sickness in society. Such moments reveal the urgent need for integrity and transparency in political caretaking. America has always struggled with issues of equality, and respect.

Throughout history, many people have faced challenges, made poor choices, and worked to correct them. But each generation must decide whether it will push society forward or unravel the progress of the past. As Frederick Douglass wisely said, “Without struggle, there is no progress.” The true struggle for America is not just about policy but about a commitment to transparency, justice, and what is right.

Political caretakers can never afford to give up.

Regardless of their party, they must continue to fight for what they believe will advance society and safeguard the dignity of every citizen. Their decisions are as crucial as the personal choices each of you makes in your everyday lives.

And though it may sometimes appear that darkness and injustice have prevailed, there is a greater truth, good will ultimately prevails in the end.

In times of moral struggle, political caretakers and the people who support them must remember the words of Galatians 6:9: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Always remember on a local level the practice of politics can be very brutal and the core of causing racism, discrimination, and harassment among community members. In politics winning or losing should not be the final judgement on a person’s ability or value. Both outcomes are opportunities for future endeavors of serving society and giving back. Neither the win or loss will define the candidates passion, worth, or ability. But rather their accessibility, transparency, and accountability can prove their ability to be the winner or loser.
