The Marion School District has announced the renewal of its hybrid school calendar for the 2025-26 school year. The calendar was approved last week by the Marion School Board.
This will be the fifth year for the innovative school calendar, which spreads out the school year, trimming time from summer vacation and adding two-week rejuvenation breaks after each nine weeks.
Students and teachers still have a seven-week summer break, but they also get twoweek breaks in the fall, winter, and spring. The number of days of instruction remains unchanged at 178.
The 2025-26 school year will begin on Thursday, July 24, 2025, with staff returning a week earlier for professional development. Fall Break will run from September 29 through October 13. Winter Break will begin on Monday, December 22, and run through Monday, January 5, 2026. Spring Break will be March 23-April 6, 2026. The calendar also includes a break for Thanksgiving and days off for Labor Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, and Memorial Day.
