opportunities during nonschool hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. The program helps students meet state and local academic standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math. It offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.
It’s not just limited to the elementary schools. The 21st Century Afternoon Program is also coming to Wonder Junior High School. Students will be provided support in the areas of English, Reading, Math ACT Prep, STEM, Financial Literacy, and Career Development.
While the program is open to all students, space is limited and there is an application process. Applications are available in the counselor’s office and must be returned by August 23, 2024. The program will begin Sept. 9..
