The auditions are over and the cast is set for the DeltaARTS production of beloved stage play “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”

Auditions took place earlier this month and the cast was announced earlier this week on Facebook. Starring in the show will be Jackson McGinnis as Chip Tolentino, Siddalee Weaver as Logainne Schwartsandgrubenniere, Julia Pilaro as Leaf Coneybear, Elijah Doss as William Barfee, Lucy Belle Mc-Farland as Marcy Park, and Ruthie Elliott as Olive Ostrovsky.

Also featured will be Sydnei Sutton as Rona Lisa Perretti, Tanner Pilgrim, Luke Caldwell as Mitch Mahoney, and Donna Pillaro in the featured ensemble/awing role.

Isaac Pillaro will serve as Crew Lead for the production. The show will be directed by Emma Crystal.

“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” is a musical comedy with music and lyrics by William Finn, written by Rachel Sheinkin and Jay Reiss. The show centers on a fictional spelling bee set in a geographically ambiguous Putnam Valley Middle School. Six quirky adolescents compete in the Bee, run by three equally quirky grownups.

The cast is comprised of area ninth-graders through college age young adults and the Tony Award-winning musical will make its debut on Thursday, July 13 and run through Sunday, July 16.

It’s time for another DeltaARTS production. This summer, the local nonprofit arts organization is producing the musical comedy “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” with another cast and crew of local talent.
