Cail named to Ohio Valley All -Conference second team in freshman season

LITTLE ROCK — University of Arkansas at Little Rock freshman middle blocker Daedrianna Cail of Marion was honored by the Ohio Valley Conference Nov. 14 as she was named to the league's all-conference second team.

campaign with 211 kills, a .266 hitting percentage, a team-leading 27 service aces and 118 total blocks, including a team-best 17 solo blocks. Her 118 total blocks ranks 57th nationally and third in the OVC at the end of the regular season while her 1.04 blocks per set ranks 172nd nationally and sixth in the league. She also finished the regular season ranked ninth in the conference with a .266 hitting percentage while her 17 block solos ranked third in the league.

Cail played four years with the Marion Patriot volleyball team from 2018-2021, which included All-State honors her junior and senior seasons. In 2021, the Patriots won their first outright 5A Conference title since 2015 and made it to the semifinals in the 2021 5A State Tournament. She also earned AVCAAll-America Honorable Mention, AVCAAll-Region, and All-Arkansas Preps Volleyball First Team honors.

This marks the 56th allconference honor overall for the Little Rock program and the first since joining the Ohio Valley Conference at the beginning of the season.
