Memphis dominant against Midshipmen

GoTigersGo.com ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The University of Memphis football team took down Navy, 37-13, on Saturday afternoon at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md.

Quarterback Seth Henigan led the Tigers (1-1, 1-1 AAC) with his third-career 400-yard passing game, completing 24-of-34 passes for 415 yards and two touchdowns. His 70.6 completion percentage on the game was a career-best for the sophomore. The Tigers outgained the Midshipmen (0-2, 0-1) 506 yards to 314 and forced three turnovers on the afternoon.

Tight end Caden Prieskorn had five receptions for 22 yards and a score, while wide receiver Joseph Scates reeled in a 79-yard touchdown from Henigan.

Gabriel Rogers had a career-best 95 receiving yards on six catches, while Javon Ivory had a gamehigh seven catches for 89 yards.

Defensively, Quindell Johnson continued his great start to the season, totaling a team-best 13 tackles, 11 solo, to go with his second interception of the year.

Xavier 'Zay' Cullens had nine stops, his first career forced fumble and a fumble recovery, while Sylvonta Oliver nabbed a pick for the Tigers.

Kicker Chris Howard stayed perfect on the season on field goals, connecting from 22, 37 and 38 yards.
