Cornerstone Revival

Are You Ready for Cornerstone Revival 2022? Marion School Board meetings

The Marion School District has announced the dates for its monthly School Board meetings for the 2022-23 school year. The meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Central Office, 200 Manor Street, in Marion. Meetings will take place on the following dates: Sept. 15; Oct. 20; Nov. 17; Dec. 15; Jan. 19, 2023; Feb. 16, 2023; March 16, 2023; April 20, 2023; May 18, 2023; and June 15, 2023.

6th annual CASA 5K

“Lace up and bring hope” with the return of the CASA 5K, Saturday, Sept. 17, a family-friendly 5K that supports area foster children. Proceeds to benefit Court Appointed Special Avocates of the Arkansas Delta, a program of Mid-South Health Systems. The race will start at the Marion Courthouse, running through the River Trace neighborhood and back for even more fun on the square. Bouce house, food trucks and more. The cost is $30 (includes event T-shirt). Ages 8 and under are free. Car Show Fundraiser

A special fundraiser for the Marion Animal Shelter will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Angel’s Way Baptist Church, 801 Angel’s Way Dr., in Marion, featuring a classic car show for the community. Check-in at 8 a.m., with the judging from 9 a.m. until noon. Winners announced at 2 p.m. Prizes for best engine, best in show, categories for cars and trucks, and a 50/50 raffle. $20 entry for contestants. Hometown Crawfordsville

The Hometown Crawfordsville Harvest Festival returns to the Old Schoolyard Park in Crawfordsville, on Saturday, Oct. 8, featuring live music, children’s area, arts & crafts, food vendors and more. Battle of the Boards

Esperanza Bonanza

Esperanza Bonanza returns this fall to the Marion Recreational Complex, Wednesday, Oct. 26 through Saturday, Oct. 29. All your favorites will be there: Cooking contests, carnival games & rides, a corn maze, live music and more, including Marion native and “The Voice” finalist Barrett Baber in concert on Saturday night.

Cornhole League

Bridge Church, 2921 Hwy. 77, is hosting a Cornhole League, Sundays at 4 p.m. Entry fee is $10 per person. Cash prizes offered. Anyone is welcome.

Civil Air Patrol

Civil Air Patrol meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the ASU Aviation Technical Center, 737 Taxiway Drive, in West Memphis. Meeting schedule: 1:30 p.m., on the first Thursday of each month; 5 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month, at West Memphis City Hall, 205 S. Redding St., in West Memphis. All meetings are open to the public.
