TheArkansas Department of Education honored 13 Arkansas Teacher of the Year Regional Finalist candidates at a Recognition Event on Thursday, Aug. 4. West Memphis School District’s Dr. Cheryl Ring was one of those 13.

Dr. Ring is a nationally recognized Family and Consumer Science and Personal Finance teacher at the Academies of West Memphis. During this past school year, she was awarded 1st place in the nation for the 2022 W!SE 100 Best High School Teaching Personal Finance.

Most days you will find her teaching personal finance to her students. She attempts to always make the sometimes “boring” subject engaging, relevant, and meaningful. Dr. Ring believes, “There are no limits to learning, and each student is a unique success.”
