227th COVID-19 death
First coronavirusrelated fatality in
county in months recorded
ralphhardin@gmail.com Last week Crittenden County got a sobering reminder that the COVID19 pandemic is not over.
On March 23, three deaths from COVID-19 related causes were reported.
Those three brought the local death toll from the pandemic to 226, where it remained for two months.
That was where the total remained until last week when another COVID-19 death was reported to local health officials as numbers trend upward, blamed largely on variant strains of the virus.
To date, there have been 14,390 cases confirmed in the county, with 34 active cases as of last Friday.
