Juvenile car theft ring smashed in West Memphis

Three arrests made, suspects sought after rash of robberies

West Memphis police unraveled an juvenile car theft ring last week. Police identi_ed _ve young car thieves as suspects having ripped off a used car dealer lot. The _ve youths, with ages ranging from 11 years old to 16, stole multiple vehicles according to police.

Detective immediately began building descriptions and made identi_cations of the _ve suspects in the case along with discovering the location of the stolen vehicles from September 3.

City Communication Director Nick Coulter said two arrests remained outstanding in the case.

“Detectives with the West Memphis Police Department through their investigation were able to locate and arrest three of the _ve juvenile involved,” said Coulter.

Charges pressed on the trio in custody so for have included: Commercial Burglary times 7, Theft of Vehicle and Breaking or Entraining into a Vehicle times 3.
