In their final regular-season game of the year, ASU Mid-South (15-4, 7-3) defeated the National Park College Nighthawks (11-7, 5-5) 90-73 Monday at The Dog House to secure the #2 seed heading into the NJCAA Region 2 Tournament held at home sites.

The Greyhounds raced out to a 43-33 lead in the first half as Kylon McCullough, J.T. Smith, and Jeremiah Jones combined for 29 points. Then in the second half, Sam Smith took over to score 15 points and Spencer Simes scored 11 points as the Greyhounds never led by less than 9 points.

McCullough and Sam Smith led the way with 18 points each while collecting 6 rebounds each. Spencer Simes finished with 14 points and 4 assists, and J.T. Smith chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocked shots. Jeremiah Jones rounded out the double- figure scorers with 12 points to go with 5 boards.

The Greyhounds shot 57.8 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from the threepoint line while winning the battle of the boards 39-33.

With the #2 seed in hand, the Greyhounds receive a bye in the first round of the region tournament and host the semifinal against the winner of the first round game between the #3 seed and #6 seed. The semifinals are scheduled for Wednesday, April 7, at 6 p.m., with the winners meeting at the home of the higher seed on Saturday, April 10, at 2 p.m.
