In recent weeks we have been seeing almost daily protest from BLM. These protest have not stopped even though the former of_cers have been _red and have been charged criminally. I agree that these of_cers should face charges. I personally believe that BLM needs to change their name to BLMUABIKBAB. That is Black Lives Matter Unless A Black Is Killed By Another Black. In Crittenden County in the month of June at least 3 Black males have been killed by other Black males. Why does BLM not address this segment of the violence that is killing people of color? I truly think that they would get more support nationwide if they would add these killings to their agenda. FBI statistics prove that a Black is many times more likely to be killed by another Black than a White, Hispanic, or Asian. They need to protest to stop all killings in their community.

to throw shade at my own industry, but the media doesn’t promote the _ght against Black-on-Black crime the way they have jumped in with both feet on this Blacks vs. The Police movement. I guess because it’s not as sensational or whatever. There are community anti-violence rallies and initiatives in virtually all communities with a majority-Black population. We have had coverage of those types of events in this very paper over the last several years. Black-on-Black crime is being condemned and it is being addressed to varying degrees of success. It’s important to do that, but you can’t just wholesale dismiss the message of the Black Lives Matter movement by just pointing a _nger at Blackon- Black crime and yelling “What about that?” It’s two different things. I am over 70 and I have a lot of health problems. So I should not be around crowds or in close quarters. That brings up early voting. I don’t have or understand a computer. I was guessing you would be able to pass this on to the right people. Marion schools might be open during that time. Would one of the big churches like the Baptist or Methodist volunteer their gymnasiums for the early voting instead of the courthouse to protect the senior citizens particularly from being in close quarters. Those would be no problem for the social distancing. I would appreciate any help you could give. Thanks. [Editor’s Note: Not a bad idea. Although just remembering the layout of the courthouse, I think it’s actually set up pretty well to enforce social distancing during the early voting. The way the long hallway goes to the polling place, you could easily set 6-foot markers. If you have someone who could be your ballot bearer, you could also vote with an absentee ballot and not even have to leave your home. There has been some talk about Arkansas having mail-in voting, but Republicans don’t seem to like that for whatever reason, and with the GOP controlling both houses of the legislature and all the executive of_ces, I would not count on that happening. 34 out of 50 states allow at-will mail-in voting. Arkansas allows for absentee (mail-in) voting for voters who are: disabled, ill, away from home, or “Uniformed Services, merchant marines or the spouse or a dependent family member and are away from your polling location due to the member’s active duty status.” I don’t know your speci_c health issues, but you would likely qualify]
