Have the comics been taken out completely? I sure miss them. [ Editor’s Note: No, it was just a temporary necessity due to the cutbacks stemming from the COVID- 19 pandemic. With a reduced number of pages to work with, I made the decision to forego the comics in favor of other content. As you’ve hopefully noticed, we’ve got them back this week. Hopefully, that won’t be an issue going forward, but it’s hard to justify running a halfpage of comics rather than news, although I certainly understand needing a little comic relief in these trying times]

*** I have to admit I was very reluctant at first but I now very much enjoy the online paper. I don’t have to go outside to get it and it’s always ready for me when I want to read it!!! [ Editor’s Note: See, I told you! OK, so maybe I didn’t tell you specifically, but digital news is where it’s all going to end up eventually, for better or for worse. I’m glad you’re enjoying the online paper. The e- edition is, like you say, conveniently posted five days a week and it’s included in your subscription. If you haven’t already, I certainly invite you to check it out]

*** Where and when do you go to register to vote?

[ Editor’s Note: I don’t know if the answer to this question is up in the air right now because of the coronavirus, but you have a few options in the State of Arkansas. To vote in Arkansas, you must provide a valid photo ID that is issued by the United States, State of Arkansas, or a college in Arkansas ( such as a driver's license, passport, military ID, public benefit card, or student ID).

Arkansas voter registration deadlines are: In person, 30 days before Election Day. This year, that’s Nov.

3, so you’d need to register on or before Oct. 4. You can also register by mail ( application must be postmarked 30 days before Election Day. You can get the application online on the Secretary of State’s website, or request one by mail at Arkansas Secretary of State, ATTN: Voter Registration, P. O. Box 8111, Little Rock, AR 72203- 8111. The application and other voter registration information can be found at sos. arkansas. gov. You register in person at the Revenue Office and the County Clerk’s Office, but like I said, with the COVID- 19 situation, hours and times may be subject to change. Hope this helps!]
