The governor needs to SLOW DOWN with trying to reopen everything. Just watch and see what happens in Tennessee and Florida and all of these other states that are telling people it’s OK to go out again… How many more people are going to get sick and maybe die just so you can go to McDonald’s or Wal-Mart? Is it worth it? IT IS NOT!!! [ Editor’s Note: It is definitely not worth it.
I have been fortunate in this pandemic in that I still have a job, my loved ones are safe and healthy, I have not been isolated alone and lonely, and my life, while inconvenient at times, has gone on largely unaffected by the coronivirus pandemic, but I understand that there are people out there who can not say the same, so I get the urge to try and get back to normal life… although I suspect the new “ normal” will be different compared to our pre- pandemic lives. Having said that, I have to agree that we might be jumping the gun on some of these rollbacks on restrictions. I guess we’ll have to wait and see]
*** If we can’t have a traditional graduation, could we use the power of positivity to do at least something for these Class of 2020 seniors who will be missing out on all of these things?
[ Editor’s Note: I have on several occasions expressed my condolences to these young men and women, but I will say I think they’ll be OK in the long run. I mean, I barely remember my high school graduation and I skipped my last college commencement exercises. But I will say, it looks like the schools and the community are doing what they can to make this year’s seniors’ graduation a memorable one. I’v e seen “ adopt a senior” pages on Facebook and other places, and I know the schools are going to make sure there is some kind of graduation program. If you look on the State News page, you’ll see one school in the state has opted for a “ drive- thru” graduation for its senior class. I have to say, it won’t be a “ traditional” graduation but it will certainly one you won’t forget. Some day, these students will hopefully be able to look back and tell folks about how their graduation was “ the one where everyone was all quarantined”]
Here’s what everyone is talking about this week:
