I am thankful to get the paper once a week on Wednesday! I am a ole timer not old school & I don't like computers at all & I would never want to read the paper on line! I think it is good for the ones who do like reading on line! I just like getting the paper! I like some things staying the same like getting a newspaper! I would be sooo sad if the paper ever stopped! I don't mind the cost! I pray people start appreciating & stop complaining about the cost & once weekly! These same people spend lots of money on things like cable tv, soda, junk food, fast food, cigarettes & anything else they want which is ok!

Remember all those things & more the cost go up!

Thank you Evening Times please, keep a weekly paper! There will be complaining no matter what & they are the same people who say & understand everything cost go up!

Again people please support Evening Times it's good to know what's going on around here & it's still news if you haven't read the paper! [ Editor's Note: Let me first say thank you for reading the paper. Yes, it's a little sad that we're only printing the paper once a week, but I am still going to encourage you and everyone else to check out the online paper. If you're a subscriber, it's already included in the cost of your subscription.

Loving or hating computers has nothing to do with being an old person or a young person. My Dad is 74, and he's on the computer all the time. My Mom is 66, and she's addicted to her tablet. Printed newspapers are becoming a rarity, and I don't like it any more than you. I have a Kindle, but I still prefer a real paper book to an e- book.

But I love the Internet, and that's where everything is going. We're doing whatever we can to keep people in this community informed, whether it's in the printed paper, the e- edition, or on our Facebook page.

Thanks for continuing to support us!]

*** As a lifelong resident of Earle, I was looking forward to an entertaining first term of your new mayor Marco McClendon. I thought 'Well, here we go again with a clownish incompetent buffoon such as we have been accustomed to on this side of the county (Carolyn Jones) But, lo and behold, Mr.

McClendon has proved to be a very capable leader with a vision for the future of West Memphis and apparently the ability to make that vision a reality. I predict he be mayor for as long as he wants to be and will Make West Memphis Great Again! [ Editor's Note: As someone who ran a lot of stories about the ill- fated mayoral reign of Carolyn Jones, I kind of miss having a colorful character around like her to sell papers… but yes, as an actual mayor, that was a bad time for the city. And you're absolutely right.

When McClendon took office, you, me and a lot of other folks were expecting a circus. And while there have been some miscues, you have to look at many of the positive things he's done, and give praise where it's due. I have been very impressed with his recent handling of the COVID- 19 crisis, and you're probably right.

Barring some sort of unforeseen fiasco, I imagine he'll be in the mayor's seat for a long time to come]

*** Governors of all states are helping as much as they can. Why is Gov Hutchinson and senators not pushing, cutting high gas tax to help Arkansans at least for a year????!!!!

[ Editor's Note: The gas tax seems like an oddly specific thing to be worried about right now. Gas is the lowest it has been since Bill Clinton was president, and no one is really buying gas right now. Now, I hate taxes as much as the next guy, but cutting taxes right now would be a terrible idea. All of these relief efforts we've seen concerning the coronavirus pandemic are funded almost exclusively by our tax reserves and future tax revenues. To cut them now would be a detriment to our ability to fund these and other programs in the future]
