ASU Mid-South women’s squad running into 4th quarter trouble From ASU Mid-South

The fourth quarter has not been kind to the Lady Greyhounds in a pair of recent losses.

The ASU Mid-South Lady Greyhounds could not find the basket late as they fell 81-70 at SAU Tech Saturday in East Camden, Arkansas.

Leading 32-29 at the half, ASU Mid-South trailed by one at the end of the third quarter, 52-51, but was outscored 29-19 in the final period. Dominating the boards, 49-31, the Lady Greyhounds had trouble finding the net, shooting just 34-8% from the field to SAU Tech’s 40.6%. The Lady Greyhounds also managed only 60.7% from the free throw line while turning the ball over 22 times.

Aaliyah Lee led all scorers with 23 points and pulled down 8 rebounds, and Adrianne Chambers finished with a dominating double-double, scoring 17 points and collecting a game-high 16 boards while dishing out a team-high 5 assists.

Ashley Pegue and Cierra Penn both chipped in 9 points each.

The Lady Greyhounds returned home Monday to play UA Cossatot at The Dog House where limited looks at the basket cost ASU Mid-South the lead and then the game.

The Lady Greyhounds held a 55-48 lead going into the fourth quarter, but UA Cossatot outscored ASU Mid-South 17-8 down the stretch to claim the lead in the game’s final minute, winning 65-63.

This Saturday the Lady Greyhounds host North Arkansas College in a double-header with the men’s team. It’s the final home game of the regular season, in which the sophomores will be honored between the women’s and men’s game. Tipoff Saturday is at noon with the men’s game scheduled at 2:00 p.m.
