Zach Byrd recorded the school’s first-ever triple-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, as the Greyhounds earned a 93-55 home victory over UA Cossatot Monday at The Dog House. Byrd, a 6’3” guard/forward from West Memphis, already holds the record for double-doubles in a season with nine this year and also set the single-game rebound record on February 3, pulling down 20 rebounds in 23 minutes of play.

The Greyhounds, coming off back-to-back losses for only the second time this season, were determined to bounce back in their return home for their last three games of the regular season, and Christian White helped them get off to a quick start, scoring 10 of his 14 points in the first half as ASU Mid-South led 43-29 at the break.

Then with the visiting Colts packing the paint in the second half, the Greyhounds finished the game from long-range hitting 10 three-pointers in the final frame. Overall, seven Greyhounds hit a combined 15 treys as ASU Mid-Shot shot 46.9% from the arc and 52.1% from the field.

On defense, the Greyhounds held UA Cossatot to 31.8% shooting and just 3-of-21 from the three-point line while winning the battle of the boards 52-31.

Ike Moore led the Greyhound scorers with 17 points, and Christian White pulled down 12 rebounds to go with his 14 points and two blocked shots. Kevin Fulton came off the bench to score 13 points and dish out 5 assists, and Monroe Carr chipped in 11 points.

ASU Mid-South (21-7) now turns their attention to Region 2 rival North Arkansas College as they host the Pioneers Saturday at 2:00 p.m., in which the sophomore class will be honored before the game. A win Saturday clinches the #1 seed for the Region 2 Tournament held March 1 & 3 at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. The Greyhounds will play their final regular-season game Monday at home against West Kentucky Community & Technical College at 6:00 p.m.
