Jalen Lynn scored his 1,000th career point and Zach Byrd set two records as the Greyhounds cruised to a 122-39 victory over Crowley’s Ridge College JV Monday at The Dog House.

Lynn’s layup at the 10:18 mark of the second half gave him 19 for the game and 1,000 points for his Greyhound career. He scored 525 points in 30 games as a freshman and had scored 456 points as a sophomore entering Monday’s contest, currently averaging 19.8 points per game.

Byrd set two records as his 20 rebounds is the single-game record in school history, and his 11 points gave him his eighth double-double of the season, breaking the record of seven set by Kamron Rose last year.

Leading 52-11 at the half, ASU Mid-South saw eight of ten players score in double-figures as Lynn and Garret Finley finished with 19 points each, Kevin Fulton and Zyon Patterson scored 14 points each, Ike Moore and Jarius Sharp went for 12 points each, and J.T. Smith hit for 10 points to go with Byrd’s 11 points and game-high 7 assists.

The 39 points also ties the record for fewest points allowed set January 11, 2013, against now-closed Mid-Continent College JV from Kentucky. The Greyhounds had set the record for largest margin of victory in this season’s previous meeting with Crowley’s Ridge on November 4, 2019, in a 139-47 win for a 92-point spread.
