The West Memphis Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), in cooperation with the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), will hold a Joint MPO Policy and Technical Coordinating Committees meeting on Tuesday, Feb.
11, at 10 a.m., at West Memphis City Hall, 205 South Redding, West Memphis. The public is invited to attend.
Suggestions for the project list for the 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan Update will be discussed. The J.W. Rich Girls Club is hosting a “Parents Night Out” this Valentine’s Day. On Friday, Feb. 14, let the kids enjoy a fun night filled with pizza, games, crafts, concessions and much more while you enjoy a night out with your sweetheart. Boys and girls ages 5 and up are welcome to come out and spend the evening (6 p.m. to 11 p.m.) at the club for just $20 for the first child and $10 for each additional child (in the same family). Families in Transition’s annual “Soup Sunday” fundraiser will be held on Sunday, March 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Tacker’s Shake Shack, 409 Military Rd.

Families in Transition is a West Memphis-based nonprofit providing shelter, safety and support services to victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, teen dating violence, sexual assault and elder abuse.

Al-Anon is a mutual support program for people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking. By sharing common experiences and applying the Al-Anon principles, families and friends of alcoholics can bring positive changes to their individual situations. Alateen is a fellowship of young people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking. By attending Alateen, teenagers meet other teenagers with similar situations. There are no fees or dues to join.
