MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Sporting Director Tim Howard and Head Coach Tim Mulqueen addressed the team for the first time this year during the season-opening team meeting on Friday. This meeting comes at the culmination of months of work signing players and building the team for the 2020 season.

“We’ve put in a lot of work assembling this team,” Howard said.

“I’m excited to see them come together on the field.”

The team will take to the pitch for practice on Sunday behind the leadership of Captain Marc Burch and returners Brandon Allen, Pierre Da Silva, Liam Doyle, Raul Gonzalez, Triston Hodge, Dan Metzger, Duane Muckette and Leston Paul.

This will be the first time the squad play with newcomers Zach Carroll, Keanu Marsh- Brown, Rafa Metzingen, Michael Reed and Mark Segbers.

The club still looks to add more players to the roster but awaits the completion of MLS training camps in hopes of attaining MLS players on loan.

Last season, through this process, Memphis 901 FC attained Jeff Caldwell, Cam Lindley, Lagos Kunga, Elliot Collier and more.

Starting next week, the team will hold weekly practices open to the media. Next week’s practice will be held at Mike Rose Soccer Complex on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 12 p.m.

Memphis 901 FC hopes to build on a successful inaugural season where they averaged over 6,500 fans per game — the ninth highest attendance in the league, second among expansion teams.
