Mrs. Anna Mae Brinkley

Mrs. Anna Mae Brinkley, 88, of Jonesboro, passed away Friday, January 31, 2020, at NEA Baptist Hospital. She was born December 29, 1931 in Swifton to Haskin and Ester Leona (Haynes) Pounds. Anna Mae was an elementary school teacher in Arkansas for over 20 years.

She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Anna Mae loved reading, gardening, crossword puzzles and taking care of others.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Arther Brinkley; sister, Janis Billie Goode.

Survivors include her sons, William (Deatra) Brinkley Jr., Mark Brinkley, and James (Elizabeth) Brinkley; daughters Janis (Jerry) Williams and Michelle (Larry) Gates; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

A graveside service was held on Monday, February 3, 2020 at Jonesboro Memorial Park.

Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home was in charge of services.
