Region 2 rival North Arkansas College slowly pulled away from the Lady Greyhounds in the first half and then kept the pace in the second in taking an 80-59 win Saturday in Harrison.

Down only three entering the second quarter, the Lady Greyhounds were outscored 23-11 in the second period to trail 39-24 at the half. The Lady Pioneers also won the third quarter by four points and the fourth quarter by only two points, but it was enough to secure the victory.

Aaliyah Lee led the Lady Greyhounds with 15 points and 8 rebounds while Ashley Pegue hit for 14 points and Adrianne Chambers scored 11 points to go with 7 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Lady Greyhounds next played at Northwest Mississippi Community College Monday in Senatobia.

Northwest Mississippi turned it on in the second quarter to garner a lead and used the third quarter to break the game open as they took a 79-62 win over the Lady Greyhounds Monday in Senatobia.

Trailing 42-30 at the half, ASU Mid-South (6-15) scored 16 points in both the third and fourth quarters, but the Lady Rangers (11- 6) broke open the game with a 24-point third period and coasted the rest of the way.

Aaliyah Lee led the Lady Greyhounds with 16 points, Adrianne Chambers scored 13, Kaylan Larry had 11, and Alindavia Lockett finished with 10 points and a team-high 4 assists. Jaquita Caldwell led ASU Mid-South with 9 rebounds. The Lady Greyhounds hit an outstanding 7-of-17 from the three-point line, but 22 turnovers to Northwest’s 7 was too much to overcome.

ASU Mid-South will have a long break to work through some things and find a winning formula. The Lady Greyhounds return to The Dog House Saturday, February 8 against National Park College in a Region 2 matchup and then host Three Rivers College the following Monday in West Memphis.
