Wolves too much for WMCS boys

West Memphis Christian Academy varsity teams split the ticket hosting Rossville Christian Academy Friday night at the Trinity Baptist gym. Rossville overpowered the boys team. While the Lady Knights outpaced the Lady Wolves from the outset.

The Rossville Academy boys streaked out 9-0 to start the game and closed the first quarter 41-7. The Wolves attacked with aggressive steals and quick outlet passing dashing to lay-ups on the fast breaks.

Rossville dominated rebounds on both ends and displayed team speed and quickness.

The Black Knights responded with its best quarter shaving the margin a bit by half time. The home team Black Knights went down 36-93.

The Lady Knights outran their counterparts winning 57-37. Grace Patterson scored more than half the points with 26 from the floor.

Nearly every player making an appearance in the game scored an assist in combination with Patterson. The team played four junior high players in the second half. Patterson hit buckets from the paint and the perimeter, sometimes from the stop and pop and other times embarking on the dribble drive.

Patterson dominated game play.

The Black Knights will be closing out the season at home on Friday, Jan. 31, when Macon Road-Delta Streets Academy will be in town as WMCS holds its Class of 2020 “Senior Night” festivities. Game time is 6 p.m.
