Greyhounds rolling, put up 104 against Rhema From ASU Mid-South asumidsouthsports.com Ike Moore has been named the NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week for his play during the week of January 13-19.

The 6’4” sophomore guard is currently averaging 16.2 points per game and played in three games, scoring 22 points in a 73-61 loss at Itawamba CC, 19 points in just 23 minutes in an 81-74 loss at Three Rivers College, and 15 points in a 74-55 Region 2 win over SAU Tech. The All-State performer from Fort Smith (AR) Southside High School, shot 7-for-12 from the field in the two road losses and a combined 8-for-18 from the three-point line in the three games. He also added 12-for-16 free throws and recorded 5 steals. Moore is the second Greyhound to be named NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week this season as sophomore Jalen Lynn was named the week of November 1117, 2019.

The Greyhounds used a slow and steady approach, outscoring the home team by 20 each half in taking a 91-51 victory at Williams Baptist University Monday in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.

The Greyhounds led 42-22 at the half as the bench provided their top four scorers. Kevin Fulton led all scorers with 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting, Garret Finley scored 15 points to go with 6 rebounds and a game-high 5 assists, Kylon McCullough had 14 points, and Zyon Patterson finished with 12 points and a gamehigh 9 rebounds along with Zach Byrd who scored 7. The Greyhounds controlled the boards,56-22, and held the home team to 30.2% shooting from the field.

The good times kept rolling for ASU Mid-South on Thursday night when the Greyhounds put up triple digits for the second time this season.

The result was never in doubt as the Greyhounds poured it on early and late against Rhema College. ASU Mid-South routed the Eagles 104-82.

The Greyhounds are currently 14-5 on the season (2-0 in NJCAA Conference XII, Region 2 play). ASU Mid-South is on the road again to finish out the month.

On Monday, Jan. 27, the Greyhounds are at Northwest Mississippi Community College for a 7 p.m. start, and on Thursday, Jan. 30, ASU Mid-South heads to West Kentucky CTC.

Tipoff time is set for 7:30 p.m.

ASU Mid-South returns home to The Dog House Saturday, Feb. 1, when South Arkansas Community College comes to town. Game time is 4 p.m. as part of a double-header with the Lady Greyhounds in the first of four straight home games.
