State NAACP president to speak at MLK gathering

Crittenden County branch will host Shaw speech Jan. 20 By John Rech

The Crittenden County NAACP announced its plans to celebrate the legacy an social activism of the Rev. Dr.

Martin Luther King Jr.

on the national holiday, Monday evening.

Frank Shaw, NAACP State Conference President since February of 2019, will deliver the keynote address on King and answer questions from the public for the county unit’s video forum, Race, Religion and Politics.

Shaw served as 1st Vice President of the State Conference prior to his recent appointment for at least two terms and Past President of the St. Francis County Branch were he currently serves as Secretary. A veteran Educator of 31 years, Married to Mrs. Debra Ann Walker Shaw for over 39 years, Father of two sons, proud grandfather of eight, five boys and three girls.

Shaw will also present important initiatives for the Arkansas NAACP for 2020.

Refreshments will be served. The public is invited.

The event will be held as part of the regular monthly meeting at the Crittenden County NAACP office at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, Jan.

20, at 812 East Broadway in West Memphis.
