‘Sweetest Play of the Year?’
Patriots TD nominated for region’s most outstanding play of the 2019 season By the Times Sports Staff sports@theeveningtimes. com Each week during the 2019 high school football season, KAIT Sports reporter Chris Hudgison gave chance to vote on the top play from that week’s slate of games.
Among the “Sports Center Top 10”-worthy plays from this season, the Marion Patriots were the top vote-getter in the Yarnell’s “Sweetest Play of the Week” in their Nov. 7 win over Jonesboro.
In all, 6,215 votes were cast on the kait8.com Sports page that week.
“We had a back and forth ballot, but Marion beats Osceola by 1,075 votes,” reported Hudgison.

com web site to see it for themselves. Hudgison makes the call: “Daedrick Cail goes up top and it’s an outstanding snag and score by Cayden Hunt,” The Patriots won 34-25 to secure a home playoff game and denied Jonesboro the 6A East title.
“Ice cream is coming to Marion,” said Hudgison.
Well, to cap off the 2019 season Yarnell’s and KAIT are holding a vote for the 2019 “Sweetest Play of the Year!” And the Cail-Hunt combo’s TD is one of the nominees.
