ASU Mid-South hosts Lady Greyhound Classic this weekend

Opening their season on the road, the Lady Greyhounds fell 73-62 at Jackson State Community College in Jackson, Tennessee.

ASU Mid-South got down early as the Lady Greenjays scored 23 first quarter points on the way to a 39-27 lead at the half.

The Lady Greyhounds then scored 35 second-half points, but Jackson State was able to hold the lead for the victory.

Freshman Adrianne Chambers had a monster game for the Lady Greyhounds, scoring 16 points and pulling down a gamehigh 18 rebounds. Center Aaliyah Lee stayed in foul trouble most of the game but still managed 13 points in only 12 minutes.

ASU Mid-South took a 58-48 advantage on the boards as they held the home team to only 38.7 percent shooting, but 21 Lady Greyhound turnovers were too much to overcome.

Next up is the Lady Greyhound Classic November 8-9, as they return to the friendly confines of The Dog House. National Park and Southwest Tennessee Community College begin the action Friday, Nov. 8 at 5 p.m., followed by the Lady Greyhounds hosting St. Louis Community College at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 9, St. Louis takes on National Park at 12 noon, followed by the Lady Greyhounds and Southwest Tennessee at 2 p.m.
