Plenty going on at the track the next two weekends

There’s rain in the forecast, but weather permitting, this weekend at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis will feature the Pancho’s Winged Sprints, 600, LM, MOD, and Stock on Saturday, Aug. 10, and continuing on Saturday, Aug. 17.

Then on Saturday, Aug.

24, the speedway will hos a Race Special, the ASCS 360 WS National Tour Winged Sprints, LM, Stock.

• Congrats to Eddie Gallagher for winning the Cody Burks Memorial 305 WS Feature, on Aug. 3.

• Thanks to Jennifer Shurtz and Kristy Skinner for spearheading the backpack giveaway that was held last Saturday.

Thanks to all that donated.

Over 250 backpacks were collected.

• The NBC “My Track, My Roots” Sports Network featured a video on Ricky Stenhouse and his home track, Riverside International Speedway, that aired on July 31. The clip is available online.

• Prayer Requests — Boyce Herring Family.

Denise Jackson, Debbie Easley, Mike Ward and B.A. Norwood. Prayers needed for these members of our racing family. Please keep Boyce Herring’s family in your thoughts and prayers. Boyce died after a long battle with cancer. Boyce was a long time engine builder, who was a friend to Riverside and many race car drivers. Please keep Denise Jackson who works in the East Concession stand in your prayers and thoughts.

Denise’s husband, Reed Jackson, died of a massive heart attack. Please keep Debbie Easley in your prayers and thoughts. She is in Baptist DeSoto and she has been placed on a ventilator. Please keep the prayers going because Debbie is very ill..

She is the wife of Jessie Easley the owner of Brad Bowden’s 305 wing sprint car. Mike Ward, the owner of the #88 360 sprint car, is going home! Thanks for the prayers and thoughts..

Please keep Mike and his family in your thoughts and prayers as he continues his recovery at home. Respect the Ward family’s privacy during this time.

Keep BA Norwood in your prayers and thoughts. B.A. is in St. Louis. His wife and daughter are hoping they will be able to bring him home soon.
