First Presbyterian church of West Memphis will once again host, beginning on Wednesday, Aug.
28. We are studying “The Red Sea to the Jordan River.” All denominations welcome, with women’s, and men’s classes of all ages, as well as children’s classes offered. We meet weekly on Wednesdays during the school year, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Small group discussions, worship music and large group teachings.

• Making Hope Contagious! — Good news for “one bar” cell service West Memphis. Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1105 Balfour Rd., West Memphis, has signed an agreement for a cell tower to go up on the church property, according to Pastor Billy Oyler.

• Choir Day Musical Celebration — Beautiful Zion Church, 420 S.
15th St., West Memphis, will present a Choir Day Musical Celebration at 4 p.m. Sunday. Guests will include, Second St. John, Mt. Calvary choir, Worship and Ministry Choir, Sisters in Christ, Sister Carrie McClure and the Voices, Brother Keith Whitfield and Company. Also attending will be Chorale, Temple of Refuge Choir and Living Water Church, Not a Shame Praise Dancers all from West Memphis, and Minster Jasman Williams and Greater Lakeview Church Choir of Memphis. Dr. E.D. Whitfield will be host pastor of the church.

• It’s Revival Time! —
It’s mid-summer revival time, presented by the Second Saint John Women Fellowship will be held from Tuesday, Aug. 13 through Friday, Aug. 16 at the Second Saint John Church, 305 Ingram Blvd.
Revivial will begin each night at 7 p.m., Rev. Stephen Chitman, pastor said.
Tuesday’s revival will host Prophetess Jessica Davis and the Kingdom Seekers Ministry of West Memphis. Wednesday’s revival will feature 1st Lady Evangelist Elizabeth Powell and the Heavenly Peace Ministry of West Memphis. Thursday will feature Apostle Lillian B. Hodges and the Blessing Through Faith, Proctor. Then on Friday Evangelist Jessie Clay and the Tabernacle of God, Marion will be the featured evangelist.
The public is invited to attend.

• Men and Women’s Day Program — The New Mt.
Pleasant M.B. Church, 524 Will Lewis Rd., Proctor, will be celebrating Men and Women’s Day Program Sunday, Aug. 18 beginning at 3 p.m. Pastor Robinson and th Mt. Olive M.B. Church cngregation of Proctor, will be specail guests. Other guests include: El Shaddai Ministry, Morning Star M.B. Church and Mt. Olive M.B. Church of Clarkedale. Everyone is invited to come and celebrate this joyous occasion.

• Community Grant Awarded — Pastor Larry Banks of Bethel AME Church, 2304 E. Barton, West Memphis, has been awarded the 21st Century Community Learning Center Grantfor the 2019-2020 schoiol year. The grant is being provided by the U.S.
Department of Education and the Arkansas Education Department. Students interested in particpating cand do so by filling out an application available at Maddux Elmentary School, 2100 E. Barton, West Mempphis. Up to 100 students slots are available. Applications for children in grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 may also be picked up at Bethel AME Church during back to school registration. The program director is Sheri Lowe and site coordinator is Karmen McNutt.
