In a new program being launched this summer in a partnership with the Crittenden County Boys & Girls Club, West Memphis schools are going to offer girls volleyball through the school. Girls going into the fourth, fifth and sixth grades this fall can sign up for the program. Players of all skill levels are invited to play and can sign up at their school from Monday, Aug. 13 through Friday, Aug. 23. It is an affordable option for young girls looking to get into the sport. The cost is only $25. ***

Registration is now underway for the 2019 Marion Youth Sports Association’s fall football season. Flag and tackle football sign-ups are going on now. The cost is $60. Visit www.gomysa. com for online registration and more information. ***

• J.W. Rich Girls Club Summer Program — The 2019 J.W. Rich Girls Club Summer Program is underway, and runs through Friday, Aug. 2, at the club, 591 Shoppingway Blvd., Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (the Girls Club is closed on Saturday and Sunday). The fee for the full summer is $375, plus $50 annual club dues if not already paid. Discount for families with multiple children ($300 for the second child, $275 per child after that). The program also has a $10 per-child daily rate (must be paid at time of pick-up). A $200 down-payment is due on the first day, with the remainder due two weeks later. Activities include sports time, special guest speakers, game days and more. $3 pizza day on Fridays. The Summer Program is open to girls ages 5 and up. Players signed up for the Marion Youth Sports Association’s 2019 fall football season are invited to gey a jump on the season. MYSA is putting on a series of football clinics this summer and all the kids who sign up for fall football can hone their skills in the offseason at these weekly camps. Clinics will focus on the fundamentals of football, including Condtioning, Blocking Techniques, Tackling Techniques, and Positional Techniques for Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver, Offensive and Defensice Lineman, Linebacker and others. Register in person at one of the clinics or go online to www.gomysa.com for more information. Fall registration (which includes access to the clinics) is only $60 this season. Any child ages 7 to 12 who is registered for fall MYSA tackle football is eligible to participate. The cost is free for all athletes registered for the MYSA fall football league. Clinics will be held every Monday, from now through Monday, Aug. 19, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Brunetti Park in Marion. • Boys & Girls Club Fall Sports — Registratio is now underway for the 2019 fall sports season at the Crittenden County Boys & Girls Club. This year, the club will be offering a wide variety of sports and activities for local kids. Sign up now for: Flag Football for boys and girls ages 4-6; Tackle Football in two age divisions – Pee-Wee (ages 6-9) and Little League (ages 9-12); Cheerleading for girls ages 3-12; Volleyball for girls ages 7-13; Soccer for boys and girls ages 3-15. Fall sports fees are: Flag football — $60 for members ($70 for non-members); Pee-Wee and Little League Football — $80 for members ($100 for non-members); Soccer — $70 for members ($80 for non-members) with a special $60 rate for players who played in the spring season; Volleyball — $50 ($25 for players playing through the West Memphis School District program); Cheer — $50 for members ($60 for non-members, plus uniform cost). Discounts are available for families with multiple children participating in club programs. ***

• Fall Volleyball Registration — At the J.W. Rich Girls Club, for girls 7 and up, and a senior division for women 18-30 (if enough sign up). There’s a discount for those who sign up before July 30. • Herbert Carter Missions Memorial Golf Tournament — Get a team and compete in the Herbert Carter Missions Memorial Golf Tournament. The tournament will be a 4-man scramble at Marion Golf & Athletic Club. Register at Marion First Baptist Church. The cost is $300 per team. Lunch will be provided at noon, with tee time at 1 p.m. Support missions, enjoy a round of golf and win prizes. Date to be determined. ***

Crittenden County Night at AutoZone Park — The Memphis Redbirds will welcome fans from this side of the river for “Crittenden County Night” at AutoZone Park, Thursday night, Aug. 22. West Memphis Mayor Marco McClendon will throw out the first pitch. Come celebrate with the community. Game time is 7:05 p.m. ***

Registration has started for the first-ever J.W. Rich Kickball League. Stop by the Girls Club, 519 Shoppingway Blvd., in West Memphis Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., to sign up.
