Youngsters can get a jump on football season with instructional camps

ralphhardin@gmail.com Are you ready for some football? Well, you can get even more ready if you are signed up for the Marion Youth Sports Association’s 2019 fall football season.

MYSA is putting on a series of football clinics this summer and all the kids who sign up for fall football can hone their skills in the offseason at these weekly camps.

“Spring baseball is over and it’s time to start thinking about the boys of fall,” said a flyer from MYSA.

“Marion Youth Sports Association is excited to offer for the first time, youth football clinics.”

Clinics will focus on the fundamentals of football, including:

• Condtioning

• Blocking Techniques

• Tackling Techniques

• Positional Techniques for Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver, Offensive and Defensice Lineman, Linebacker and others Register in person at one of the clinics or go online to www.gomysa.com for more information. Fall registration (which includes access to the clinics) is only $60 this season.

Any child ages 7 to 12 who is registered for fall MYSA tackle football is eligible to participate. The cost is free for all athletes registered for the MYSA fall football league.

Clinics will be held every Monday, from Monday, July 8 through Monday, August 19, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Brunetti Park in Marion.
