West Memphis Christian School graduates Class of 2019
www.wmsd.net The graduating class of West Memphis Christian School was recognized at a special gathering of family and friends. Commencement was held May 10, at the Missouri Street Church of Christ in West Memphis.
The WMCS Class of 2019 included: Delvion Augustus, Malik Barrow, Alex Bramucci, Emma Burnett, Kamoni Clay, Graham Dickerson, Gavin Foster, Weslea Grafton, Hunter Hicks, Jonathan Jones, DaRon Mosley, Malia Nichols, Mason Shidler, and Malik Washington.
WMCS recognized a pair of Valedictorians:
• James Alex Bramucci, a senior at WMC from Marion. He is the son of John and Tabetha Bramucci. Alex has a GPA of 4.04 and plans to attend Arkansas State University in the fall where he will study Plant and Soil Science. Special honors and activities Bramucci has received include: Summa Cum Laude; Honors graduate; Student Council President; Beta Club President; Mu Alpha Theta President; Wendy’s High School Heisman School winner and State Finalist; Varsity Basketball four years; Class A Basketball North State Champions; Varsity Tennis four years; MAIS Class A Doubles District Champions four years; MAIS North State Class A Doubles State Runner-up two years.
Alex attends Marion First Baptist Church where he serves on the First Student Ministry Leadership Team.
• Malia Faith Nichols, a senior at WMC from Marion. She is the daughter of James and Jamie Nichols. Malia has a GPA of 4.0 and plans to attend Williams Baptist University in the fall where she will study Elementary Education. She plans to be an Elementary teacher and teach English in other countries.
Special honors and activities Nichols has received include: Summa Cum Laude; Honors graduate; Member of Beta Club and Mu Alpha Theta; Student Council Chaplin; Member of volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, tennis and Knowledge Bowl teams; 2018 Football Queen. She has participated in a number of school and church mission trips. Malia is a member of Marion First Baptist Church where she serves on the First Student Ministry Leadership Team.
The Black Knights also honored two Salutatorians:
• Parker Lee Benson, a senior at WMC from Marion. He is the son of Randy & Brooke Benson and Amanda Derrick. Parker has a GPA of 3.94 and plans to attend Arkansas State University in the fall.
Special honors and activities Benson has received include: Summa Cum Laude, Honors graduate; Student Council Vice President; A member of Beta Club and Mu Alpha Theta; Varsity Basketball Class A State Champions; 2019 member of MAIS All-Star basketball team; 2017 Football Class A State Champions; Football All-American Athlete; Member of baseball team.
• Mason Wayne Shidler, a senior at WMC from Marion. He is the son of Mitch & Jessica Shidler. Mason has a GPA of 4.0 and plans to attend the University of Arkansas in the fall. Special honors and activities Shidler has received include: Summa Cum Laude; Honors graduate; Member of Beta Club and Mu Alpha Theta; Varsity Basketball Class A State Champions; Varsity Tennis MAIS North State Champions; 2017 Football Class A State Champions; Football All-American Defensive Player; Golf team Other graduates with honors were:
• Malik Deshawn Barrow-a senior at WMC from Marion; plans to attend Oklahoma Baptist in the fall where he was signed to play Football; Honors graduate with a GPA of 3.56; Member of Mu Alpha Theta, 2017 Football Class A State Champions
• Emma Lee Burnett-a senior at WMC from Proctor; plans to attend Arkansas State University in the fall; 2018 Homecoming Queen; Member of Mu Alpha Theta and Beta Club
• Kamoni Jataria Clay-a senior at WMC from Marion; plans to attend the University of New Orleans in the fall; 2019 Winterfest Queen; Honors graduate with a GPA of 3.58; Member of Beta Club, Student Council Secretary
• Graham Edward Dickerson- a senior at WMC from Marion; plans to attend Arkansas State University in the fall; Member of Mu Alpha Theta and Beta Club; Senior Banquet Royalty; 2017 Football Class A State Champions
• Gavin Bradley Fostera senior at WMC from Marion; plans to attend Arkansas State University in the fall; Presidents Award for Educational Excellence; Honors graduate with a GPA of 3.79; Member of Mu Alpha Theta and Beta Club; Student Council Treasurer
• Sarah Welsea Grafton-a senior at WMC from Marion; plans to attend Bellhaven University in the fall; Summa Cum Laude, ACT 30+ Club; Presidents Award for Educational Excellence; Honors graduate with a GPA of 4.23; Senior Banquet Royalty
• Hunter Drake Hicks-a senior at WMC from Marion; plans to attend Arkansas State University in the fall; Presidents Award for Educational Excellence; Honors graduate with a GPA of 3.69; Member of Mu Alpha Theta and Beta Club; 2017 Football Class A State Champions
• DaRon Ray Mosley- a senior at WMC from Marion; plans to attend Central Methodist University in the fall; Member of Beta Club; 2017 Football Class A State Champions A number of special titles were also conferred:
• 2019 Mr. & Miss WMCS — Alex Bramucci and Emma Burnett 2019 WMCS Hall of Fame — Parker Benson, Hunter Hicks, Malia Nichols and Mason Shidler.
