US. Marshals nab man wanted for death of West Memphis veteran By the Evening Times News Staff

U.S. Marshals arrested 27-year-old Marcello Banks in Memphis Tuesday morning in connection with the March 10 murder of Basha Thomas, a 24-year-old West Memphis resident.

Banks was arreted by the U.S. Marshals East Arkansas Fugitive Task Force and is set to be extradited to Crittenden County to face first degree murder charges.

West Memphis police responded to shots fired in the East Jackson Street area just before 6 a.m.

Sunday March 10. When officers arrived in the area they found Thomas, a military veteran shot multiple times in his vehicle outside 2950 East Jackson in West Memphis.

This latest arrest related to recent shootings in West Memphis is the result of a concentrated effort on the part of the West Memphis Police Department’s detective division and cooperation from other law enforcement agencies.
